PP (Polypropylene) Solid Sheet

    PP solid sheet is polypropylene plastic fabricated by the extrusion process with advanced technology. In addition, PP sheet has special properties as follows:

  • Solid, rigid, smooth surface, and waterproof plastic sheet
  • Tough and impact resistant
  • Resistant to chemical and oil corrosion
  • Translucent and easy to clean
  • Able to resist temperature above 80 degree Celsius
With these outstanding properties, PP sheet is suitable for various uses such as food and drink, electronic components, and decoration.

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

PET is polyester type plastic derived primarily from the reaction between ethylene glycol and dimethyl terephthalate. PET is transparent, translucent, very tough, impact resistant, chemical and solvent resistant (difficult to find suitable adhesive), acid resistant (but not resistant to base), able to prevent the permeability of vapor and gas, safe, usable for food and drug packaging, and odorless. PET can be easily and quickly formed by the thermoforming process comparing with PVC and PP provided that the temperature and time are set properly. PET packages commonly seen in the market are clear bottles for drinking water. Nowadays, PET can be produced as sheets and be formed into boxes, trays, and cups that are clean, clear, and environmentally friendly.

PS : Polystyrene
PS plastic is used to produce cup-shaped and tray-shaped packages by the thermoforming process. In general, styrene polymer is hard and brittle; however, its toughness can be enhanced by adding butadiene synthetic rubber. This improved styrene is called “High impact styrene”. Styrene is also used as copolymer (polymer that consists of two different types of monomers) in order to improve quality and properties of the polymer. When combining with another polymer, its properties will be changed such as improved toughness and rigidity, improved thermal resistance, and higher melting point.

General properties:

  • Hard, brittle, and lightweight
  • Colorless, odorless, clear, having smooth surface, easy to add color, and able to maintain the transparency
  • Resistant to common chemicals but not resistant to hydrocarbon and organic solvents
  • Electrical insulator
  • Non-hygroscopic and easy to accumulate electrostatic charge that attracts dust
  • Having high shrinkage while cooling, which make it easy to be removed from the mold but subjected to slight deformation of shape and size
